Why you should learn Eagle Claw Kung Fu
Deadly speed and power
Like the eagle suddenly seizing its prey from out of the blue, as an
Eagle Claw fighter you quickly dispatch your opponent using a
deadly combination of speed and power. Eagle Claw Kung Fu targets the soft parts of the opponent's body such as joints, pressure points, eyes and throat. The aim is to strike with lightning speed and accuracy so that you can take down your opponent in the blink of an eye.
Founded 900 years ago
Eagle Claw Kung Fu has its roots in the martial arts of General Yue Fei
(1103 to 1142), a renowned general of the Southern Song Dynasty. Yue
Fei created the 108 Eagle Claw seizing methods to train his officers to
fight, and this formed the basis of what is known as Yue Fei Eagle Claw.
Yue Fei Eagle Claw was later combined with the Fanzi Style. This latter
style emphasized punching skills. The combined style was taught by
Grandmaster Chen Zi Jeng as Eagle Claw Fanzimen or simply Eagle Claw
Kung Fu during his time as instructor at the Chinwoo Association in
Shanghai after the fall of the Qing Dynasty.
