About Bagua Zhang - Old Eight Palms Form

Together with the Fixed Form Eight Palms, the Old Eight Palms is one of the entry level forms of Bagua Zhang. The Old Eight Palms Form is the oldest form in the style, and is sometimes referred to as the Eight Mother Palms.

The Eight Palms refer to the eight types of flowing palm sequences that constitute the form. Each is performed once on the right and left side, so as to mirror and balance each other, and the stepping is done along an imaginary circle. Each of the sequences are aimed at developing different flows of attacking and defending ability.
