Fan Che means "Overturning Wheel" in Chinese. Da Fan Che is therefore the form of the Great Overturning Wheel. As its namesake suggests, the form focuses on the mantis technique of continuous overhead smashing.

The form trains the practitioner in the use of overhead smashing in all four directions. In addition, the form also explores the use of circle hands such as circular hooks and outward circular blocks. It is a long distance form that complements the short-range Xiao Fan Che form.

By perfecting the art of the continuous overhead smash, the practitioner could fight like a steam roller in battle crushing all attempts to block and guard by the opponent.
